The LVTP-5 (landing vehicle, tracked, personnel 5) is a family of amphibious armored fighting vehicles used by the Philippine Marine Corps, the Republic of China Marine Corps, and, formerly, the United States Marine Corps. It was designed by the BorgWarner company and built by FMC (Food Machinery Corporation) along with a few other companies.

2021年4月20日 · Landing Vehicle Tank Personnel 5 (LVTP-5) was the fifth in a series of ‘amtracks’ (amphibious tracked vehicles) first developed during World War Two. The LVTP-5 began its life in 1956. It used a V12 gasoline motor and could run at an amazing 30 miles per hour on dry land, faster than any NATO main battle tanks at that time.

Fully enclosed, it could carry 30-35 fully equipped marines, was 9 meters long for almost forty tons. Too late for the Korean war, the LVTP-5 seen extensive action during the Vietnam war.

It was given a rather basic rectangular shape with a forward-slanted bow housing a powered ramp doubling as a section of the front wall. The sides of the vehicle were vertical as was much of the roof line and rear hull facing.
