2018年5月21日 · So, because this machine - which is just shy of 3 years old when it shipped in August 2015 - can't support larger than the smallest 2242 form factor m.2 drives, sadly, and of course it doesn't have NVMe support either so it's got to be a plain old vanilla m.2 2242 SATA III SSD that I'm in the market for.
Largest capacity m.2 SSDs that are single-sided? - [H]ard|Forum
2022年11月26日 · As of my knowledge cut-off, the Kioxia 4TB single-sided M.2 NVMe SSD is one of the largest capacity M.2 SSDs available on the market. I am not aware of any larger single-sided M.2 NVMe SSDs currently available. As for the Kioxia drive itself, it is a high-performance SSD that is well-regarded for its speed and reliability.
WTB: Older m.2 SATA SSD, 2242 or 2260. - [H]ard|Forum
2023年3月8日 · I am looking for an old SSD in an attempt to try to resurrect a rather old, now nearly worthless device. I am hoping that a member here might have one or more of these drives in an old parts bin or junk drawer. The specs on the SSD include: Same/compatible with the Sandisk SD65P1M drive, m.2...

2014年9月1日 · (4) M.2 PCIe 2.0 X1 (up to 5Gbps theoretical or 500-550MBps real world max) You must have both a motherboard and a SSD that supports the same interface to achieve a given level of performance. If you stick a M.2 PCIe 2.0 X1 SSD into a M.2 PCIe 3.0 X3 slot, then you will get a max of 500-550MBps, not 3.2GBps.

2014年8月25日 · I've picked up a ASRock b560 MATX Pro RS because it has 3 m.2 slots. One is PCIe Gen5x4, Another is Gen4x4 and the last one is Gen4x2. The Gen5x4 is positioned above the GPU, the gen4x4 is positioned about slot 2~3, under the gpu. I plan to run Windows 10 off the 1tb drive and use the 4tb for extra games and files.
Broken M.2 slot. Safe to boot? - [H]ard|Forum
2024年2月13日 · It would be nice if the M.2-slot was working, but still its only PCIE2.0 (I think) and spending money replacing the M.2-slot on such a old motherboard is not worth it in my opinion. Removing it though could be an option, because then I could use the Z97 motherboard to do OC on the CPU and further increasing performance of the system.

Weird M.2 SSD Heat Issues in the NCase V2 - [H]ard|Forum
2015年6月19日 · Most M.2 SSDs don't have any metal that they can dump heat onto, so it's just a chip. Is it on the back of the motherboard ? Then it doesn't get any fresh air either. Then you'd have to measure the distance between a metal case panel and the SSD's chip (not the memory, the controller) and get a thermal pad for the appropriate distance.
Help me understand recent AM5 x870e boards and PCIe Lane …
2000年10月29日 · The part I found particularly interesting was that last section about USB 40Gbps. It sounds to me like normally the 40Gbps USB ports consume 4x lanes in Gen4 mode, but this particular board allows you to steal two of them for a second m.2 slot while still leaving 40Gbps USB enabled, or disable 40Gbps all together …
