Basic iMac M1 worth it today? - MacRumors Forums
May 25, 2015 · A base M1 iMac is still a good machine. It should handle near any sort of thing you use it for save heavy video editing or intensive 3D modelling. For everyday administrative/office like tasks including multitasking, a fair number of open tabs and photo editing you should be fine.
When will Apple drop macOS support for M1 systems?
Mar 12, 2023 · No matter how you slice it, I'd say M1 Macs have a good while longer to get updates. I'd be more worried about Intel Macs without the T2 at this point. Incidentally, unless your Intel Mac is an Intel 16-inch MacBook Pro, a 2020 27-inch iMac, an iMac Pro, or a 2019 Mac Pro, you probably ought to already be shopping for your next Mac.
