This technical manual provides operator instructions for the Palletized Load System (PLS) Flatrack M1077/M1077A1 and the ISO Compatible Palletized Flatrack (IPF) M1. It supersedes an earlier technical manual and directs the user to another manual for maintenance, troubleshooting and parts information.

This manual is designed to help operate and maintain the Model M1077/M1077A1 PLS Flatrack, NSN 3990-01-307-7676 and Model ISO Compatible Palletized Flatrack M1 (IPF), NSN 3990-01-406-1340. Listed below are some of the features included in this manual to help locate and use the needed information:

The FR (1) M1077 accommodates a 33,000 lbs. (15 metric tons) payload and M1077A1 accommodates a 32,300 lbs. (14.6 metric tons) payload during all modes of transportation and during all specified load/unload operations. During Load Handing System (LHS) load/unload operations the FR can accommodate a full payload.

The M1077A1 Flatrack will accommodate uniformly distributed payloads of 32,300 lbs (14,651 kg). To meet the uniformly distributed payload requirements, the rear corner fittings should be 1,100 lbs (499 kg) to 1,200 lbs (544 kg) heavier than the front corner fittings.

The M1077 and M1077A1 flatracks are sideless flatracks used to transport pallets of ammunition and other classes of supplies. The M1 flatracks carries identical classes of supplies. It is ISO/CSC certified and is suitable for intermodal transport, including transport on container ships.
