2017年6月21日 · The difference is that a BM59 is basically an M1 in 7.62x51, with its full-barrel-length gas system that takes a detachable magazine. M1A is a semi M14 with its shorter gas system and operating rod. I'd love to own a BM59, but magazines for the M14/M1A are cheaper and easier to find.

2020年8月2日 · The BM59 rifle is based on the M1, and the first examples were actually converted M1 rifles. So it is quite possible to modify an M1 receiver to BM-59 specs. I personally find the idea of cutting up an original, functioning M1 rifle to be something of a travesty, and I didn’t find any stripped receivers for sale at the time I was looking.

2019年5月18日 · I’m looking at buying an unmodified BM 59 paratrooper stock for my M1A but I’m worried about doing the conversion. Has anyone ever done it or seen instructions before? Note that this is not the modified Springfield or Reese stock. You can see how the standard gi stock doesn’t have enough meat in the rear to mate up with the bm59 metal.
