The M2 Bradley, or Bradley IFV, is an American infantry fighting vehicle that is a member of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle family. It is manufactured by BAE Systems Land & Armaments (formerly United Defense) and entered service in 1981, with fielding beginning in 1983.

The M2 light tank, officially Light Tank, M2, was an American light tank of the interwar period which saw limited service during World War II. The most common model, the M2A4, was equipped with one 37 mm (1.5 in) M5 gun and five .30 cal M1919 Browning machine guns.

The M2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) consists of five variants: the M2, M2A1, M2A2, M2A2 ODS (Operation Desert Storm improvements), and M2A3. Their main mission is to provide protected transport of an infantry squad, up to six passengers, to critical points.

Dec 2, 2024 · The Bradley M2A2 is motorized with a new powerful engine Cummins VTA-903 developing 600 hp compared with the 500 hp of the original production vehicle to handle the increased weight of the vehicle. it can run at a maximum road speed of 61 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 400 km.

M2A2 Bradley. In 1988 the A2 entered production. It featured new large sections of armoured panel along the hull sides and the turret. These also had additional mounts for adding Explosive Reactive Armour. The new armoured panels covered the infantry’s internal firing ports.

Feb 6, 2025 · In 2022, it was announced that the U.S. would send 186 M2A2 Bradleys to Ukraine (some suspect the real number is much higher). The M2A2, despite its age, offered a host of advanced capabilities such as improved armor, better fire control systems, and advanced electronic command and control systems.

Oct 20, 2018 · Initially the Bradley was protected against 14.5mm projectiles on all sides. The M2A2 provided protection against 30mm projectiles on all sides, and added spall liners.

M2A2: Introduced in 1988, with an improved 600 hp engine, enhanced armor (including the option for explosive reactive armor), and the removal of the amphibious trim vane and side firing ports. The infantry squad was reduced to six men, and anti-fragmentation Kevlar pads were added.
