2013年3月6日 · The M60A2 was fielded in very limited numbers. There was one battalion at Hood, 1-67 Armor in 2 AD. There were six battalions worth in Germany, 2 each in 1 AD and 3 AD, one each in 3 ID and 8 ID. However, some of these units deployed them in battalion strength, others fielded them in company strength within mixed battalions of M60A1's and M60A2's.

2007年7月3日 · There used to be a couple of M48A1 static memorials around the Ft Knox area that had M60A2 turrets popped on them. There was a lot of speculation how this came to pass, as in unpublished variants, but the simpler explanation was that after the A-Deuce had been taken out of service the hulls had been converted to AVLB and some turrets were surplus.

2009年3月1日 · The M60A1 saw the change to the boxy shaped turret, and the M60A2 saw a complete turret redesign. The M60A2 turret was a long, narrow box shape, mounted on top of a dome shape, with hatches on either side of the box. This Turret also mounted a 152mm gun, similar to the M551 Sheridan, capable of firing the Shellalegh 152mm guided missile.

2008年11月30日 · The only M60A2 unit I am aware of that was at Fort Hood was 1-67 Armor, 2 AD, which had A2's from about April 1973 until at least Fall 1978. Most of the A2's were in Germany, but in 1977 the Army decided to reallocate some of those to CONUS.
