2022年12月28日 · A Christmas Present to myself is this 1944 Dated 3-inch M62 A1 APC projectile. Interesting example as it is marked PROOF, so assuming it was used to establish tolerances for production of these projectiles. It's a nice example but as seen in the photos there is moderate rust on the iron.

I do not see how increasing the 76mm by three calibers to 55 without increasing the propellant would somehow give it 300 fps greater Mv from the M62A1, matching the 17-pdr.

Cases: a good condition well inked Army 3" MKII B2 ( steel) the rarest as those laquered steel cases rusted out years ago.
