2021年1月2日 · Early production Zastava M91., like the early M77 had milled receivers. I believe the wood was used on both milled and stamped until the polymer replaced it.

Collectors have always had a lot of controversial discussions about M91 and M91/30 stocks finish methods used by the Soviets. During the 1930's-1940's, the Tula and Izhevsk factories stock finish had little difference in details. The basic wood that was used for stock production was birch (walnut was rarely used for sniper rifle stock production).

2011年4月6日 · most Russian/soviet stocks, whether M91, M91/30, M38 or M44 are arctic birch, with a few made of beech. Only the American and French contract mosins (Chatellerault, Remington and NEW) had walnut stocks. Also, I believe the Japanese rifles had either teakwood or catalpawood stocks.
