Since 1978, the Oceanic Flux Program (OFP), funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), has continuously measured particle fluxes in the deep Sargasso Sea.

2020年10月16日 · MBL scientist Loretta Roberson has received a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E) to implement designs for sustainable, large-scale tropical seaweed farms for the production of biomass for biofuels.

The contract for the oceanarium at the master-planned waterfront project was awarded to MBL. Jeddah Central First launched in 2021, the $20 billion (SAR75 billion) project will develop 5.7 million square metres of land overlooking the Red Sea to be financed by the Public Investment Fund and from local and international investors.
