2024年9月1日 · Bone scintigraphy (a.k.a. bone scans) is a nuclear medicine (scintigraphic) study that makes use of technetium-99m (commonly Tc-99m-methylene diphosphonate (MDP)) as the active agent 2. About 50% of the injected dose will be absorbed by the bones after 2 to 6 hours 2. The study has three phases that follow the intravenous tracer injection.
Bone scintigraphy - Wikipedia
A bone scan or bone scintigraphy / s ɪ n ˈ t ɪ ɡ r ə f i / is a nuclear medicine imaging technique used to help diagnose and assess different bone diseases. These include cancer of the bone or metastasis, location of bone inflammation and fractures (that may not be visible in traditional X-ray images), and bone infection (osteomyelitis). [1]

2023年8月14日 · Skeletal scintigraphy, commonly referred to as a bone scan (BS), is a valuable and versatile nuclear medicine tool. The examination is most commonly performed using the radiotracer Technetium-99m (Tc99m) complexed to a diphosphonate, either methylene diphosphonate (MDP) forming Tc99m-MDP or hydroxydiphosphonate (HDP) forming Tc99m …

2015年6月23日 · Bone scintigraphy with radionuclide-labeled diphosphonate analogs, such as 99m Tc–methylene di-phosphate (MDP), is one of the most frequently used nuclear medicine imaging studies. Common indications are the detection of bone metastases and the investigation of various benign bone disorders, including bone pain, trauma, infection, bone ...

2007年3月29日 · Imaging with 99m Tc-methylene diphosphonate (99m Tc-MDP) is the initial method of choice to detect skeletal metastases in cancer patients (9). For SPECT of the bone, metastable technetium (99m Tc) is tagged onto a phosphonate compound such as MDP to generate 99m Tc-MDP, which selectively concentrates in the bone.
Technetium 99m-methyl diphosphonate - Radiopaedia.org
2022年1月6日 · Technetium 99m-methyl diphosphonate (99mTc MDP) is a radiotracer used in nuclear medicine especially for bone scintigraphy. Any disease process which results in extracellular fluid expansion will lead to accumulation of this tracer.

2018年9月1日 · In this article, we will review the normal biodistribution of Tc-99m MDP on bone scans, and provide examples of extraskeletal Tc-99m MDP localization owing to both benign and malignant conditions. These include disturbances in calcium metabolism, soft-tissue damage such as in setting of physical trauma, urinary tract anomalies, and errors in ...

Our results show, that in non-selected clinical routine work for bone scintigraphy HDP and DPD do not present any decisive qualitative or quantitative advantage in comparison to MDP. Of 790 patients, 772 with proven cancerous disease have been studied without any selection using either MDP (three different kits), HDP (two types) or DPD.
