The MG T-Type is a series of body-on-frame open two-seater sports cars that were produced by MG from 1936 to 1955. Known as the Midget, the series included the TA, TB, TC, TD, and TF models. Although the design was contemporary in the 1930s, it had grown outdated by the 1950s, and was replaced by the all new MGA in 1955.

The MG TA is a prewar sports car built with a steel body on a traditional ash wood frame. Most cars were open-topped two-seaters, but a few were built into luxury sports cars by coachbuilders such as Salmons (the Tickford drophead coupe) and by Carbodies (the closed-roof Airline coupe).

This site is primarily dedicated to the original MPJG engined M.G. TA. The two photos above were factory T Series prototypes. When first introduced to the public the TA was known simply as the T Type M.G. Only after the XPAG engine was fitted into the T Type chassis, creating the TB, did the title "TA" come into popular use.

2021年2月9日 · The chassis/body/batch numbers for TA 1250 and 1251 are well documented, as they were the TAs with the last B269 and first B270 body type. The body numbering was restarted at 100 with the production of the first B270 body type.
