United Artists (UA) is an American film production and distribution company owned by Amazon MGM Studios.

In 1981, MGM had purchased United Artists from Transamerica after the failure of the movie Heaven's Gate. In 1982, after MGM broke off from its partnership with CBS, it was renamed to MGM/UA Home Video (a.k.a. MGM/UA Home Entertainment Group).

On a 1995 syndicated infomercial for James Bond films, the specular highlights for "MGM/UA" are lit up, and "Presents" fades in instead of the home video text that is normally in place. Also, the logo does not shine.

On September 22, 2014, MGM acquired a controlling interest in One Three Media and Lightworkers Media and merged them to revive the television production unit of United Artists as United Artists Media Group (UAMG). MGM itself acquired UAMG on December 14, 2015, and folded it into their own television division. [3]
