2021年10月10日 · Raiden at the end of MGS2 threw away his dog tags to reject the Patriot’s control and to be his own person, to pick a name for himself and find something to pass on. That’s why we don’t play as Solid Snake, because it wouldn’t work. Snake is a legendary hero that Raiden wants to be. Raiden needs to be his own person and think for himself.

Apparently quite a few people like him, but I think Raiden is a poor addition to the MGS series and it would have been much better without him, or with some other character in his place. I understand wanting to introduce a character and make him different from Snake, and heading somewhat in the "pretty boy" direction with the design.

This is the Raiden that says he often couldn’t differentiate some of his VR training from reality. The same thing happens in MGS1 to Johnny, its just standard MGS being goofy. You don’t even kill or do anything vicious to him not to mention this sequence effectively allows you to play as raiden for the whole game via the mask. It’s probably why it’s in the game judging by the starter question on new game.

2021年10月20日 · Raiden's reaction speeds are easily hypersonic+ and sub relativistic in Ripper Blade Mode, which should allow him to actually dodge lightning. But regardless that's assuming she even has a chance to attack, since Raiden moves faster than a freight train and fights at sub relativistic speeds (see the Monsoon fight, raindrops stand still).

2021年11月28日 · Raiden in MGS2 is the representation of the player, the player that experienced Solid Snake’s mission in the original Metal Gear Solid. This mission is essentially Raiden’s “VR Training” because he and the player both experienced the Shadow Moses Incident. So now Raiden in MGS2 is about to tackle the Big Shell Incident.

Hey that’s totally fair, I personally prefer the meta-subtext of Raiden and his use as a narrative device over his actual in-universe character but I do still feel he’s well developed and changes a lot throughout the story, particularly with Rose, which is a whole other can of worms when it comes to MGS fans understanding her point of view ...

2023年1月1日 · I give snake full credit for using CQC to grapple vamp and inject him with a shot, but that shot would of done nothing to Raiden and didn't win him the fight. If Raiden hadn't of come snake would of died geckos or not. Now do this. Google "who's the strongest MGS character" and good luck finding a list that doesn't put Raiden as number 1.
