A selective-fire, semi-, and full-auto 5.56x45mm rifle using a short-stroke gas piston, the FN® MK 16 LB is configured for long-range engagements. It can be quickly converted to its shorter counterparts – the FN® MK 16 and FN® MK 16 CQC – at operator level in just minutes.

The FN SCAR-L (Special Operation Forces Combat Assault Rifle - Light) assault rifle chambered in 5.56x45 NATO rounds, was adopted by USSOCOM (United States Special Operations Command) as the Mk 16. Features a side-folding polymer stock and a free-floating, cold hammer-forged Mil-Spec barrel with hardchromed bore.

The MK 16 Mod 0 SCAR-L is a relatively new 5.56mm x 45mm carbine / assault rifle that has been selected by SOCOM to replace a number of existing weapons such as the M4A1 and the CQBR. The MK 16 can be configured with a 14 inch barrel (standard), with a 10 inch barrel (CQC) or with a 18 inch barrel (LB).
