2021年7月20日 · When establishing a MACsec session, MACsec Key Agreement (MKA) will exchange EAPoL-MKA frames between switches, the switches will process the frames but will not forward them. MACSec (Media Access Control Security) is a network security standard that provides encryption and protection for Ethernet frames at layer 2 of the OSI model (Data Link), defined by the IEEE as a standard denominated 802.1AE.

In this repository you will find the open source code for the MKA daemon implemented by Technica Engineering Gmbh. Currently this daemon supports running in Linux (tested Ubuntu 20.04 and 22.04), and implements MKA as defined in IEEE802.1X-2020.

To enable MKA on an interface, a defined MKA policy should be applied to the interface. You can configure these options: Policy name, not to exceed 16 ASCII characters. The figure shows how a single EAP authenticated session is secured by MACsec by using MKA.

2018年5月31日 · Using IEEE 802.1X Port-based Authentication with Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP-TLS), you can configure MKA MACsec between device ports. EAP-TLS allows mutual authentication and obtains an MSK (master session key) from which the connectivity association key (CAK) is derived for MKA protocol.
