The EMD MP15, sometimes referenced as MP15DC, is a 1,500 hp (1,119 kW) diesel–electric road switcher locomotive model produced by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division between 1974 and 1980. It was equipped with a V12 12-645E engine sporting a Roots blower .

The MP15 (later redesignated as the MP15DC) was the first in the series and interestingly, was meant to not only for yard, industrial, and light branch duties but also as a general road switcher. It replaced the earlier SW1500, featuring a larger fuel tank (1,400 gallons) and Blomberg trucks as standard for general road service.

This smooth-running model features a roadname-specific body and plenty of applied details. The locos are DCC ready and feature an eight-pin socket for easy decoder installation.

The MP15DC is a versatile locomotive that is employed by both large and small railroads across North America in road freight and yard switching duties. It was also purchased by several non-railroad corporations for use in plant switching service.

2009年6月30日 · The MP15DC is a 4 axle, 1,500 HP diesel-electric locomotive built by EMD between 1974 and 1980. Like the SW1500 before it, the MP15DC uses a 12 cylinder 645 prime mover rated at 1,500 HP. The locomotive was marketed as a direct replacement of the SW1500, and the two locomotives are very similar mechanically and physically.
