The SMG is a submachine gun featured in almost all the games in the Grand Theft Auto series since Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, with the exception of Grand Theft Auto Advance. It is referred to as MP in GTA Vice City (or as MP5 in the PlayStation 2 version), while in all other Grand Theft Auto games it is called SMG .
