Certain things will need to be changed for fitment and simplicity such as the oil pan and water pump. You will need a 1JZ bellhousing and flywheel which can be used on the 2JZ too.

2007年1月27日 · i can confirm that JDM 1JZ & 2JZ map sensors from the JZA70 & JZA80 both read exactly the same. they both stop measuring boost at 1.16 kg/cm2 or 16.8 psi or 4.90v. im still trying to find which mr2 map sensor is a direct plug n play with a higher capacity/resolution...

2005年10月14日 · For example, the twin turbo engines in modern Supras are the 1JZ-GTE and 2JZ-GTE. The 1JZ is a 2.5L engine, while the 2JZ is a 3.0L. Both are twin turbo inline sixes.

2005年3月18日 · mr2 bov plate will not fit, i have both a mr2 and 1jz bov and there both different. The plate looks similar but the 1jz is 1/2 inch longer, and single hole to mount the bov are both different.

Short answer - they (probably) had Yahama to do it on the 1JZ then re-used/bought out/stole the design, stroked it, and called it the 2JZ. Most Toyota performance engines have yamaha heads. 2ZZ-GE, 3S-GE, 1JZ-GTE, etc. The 2JZ is derivative of the 1JZ so I'm sure a lot of yamaha's design carried over.
