2015年12月10日 · Have this distributor with a adapt-a-cap on my new motor I recently purchased. It's a R5/P7 Dodge 358 NASCAR motor. Problem is the distributor hits my cross bar along the firewall, not really close to fitting at all.

A durable gear is installed for performance applications, and an MSD red cap with brass terminals and race rotor is supplied. They're available in standard and small diameter models for applications with limited clearance, and require the use of a separate ignition box such as an MSD 6, 7, 8, or 10 Series ignition.

The MSD Pro-Billet Distributor for Chrysler R5 Engines, PN 8538, is equipped with an oversized, 0.012", bronze gear. This gear is available as a replacement as PN 8527.

Just under the brass terminals of the MSD cap and rotor is an easy-to-adjust mechanical advance assembly. The assembly is fine blanked from chro-moly steel, TIG-welded for strength plus receives a QPQ coating.
