Jul 14, 2024 · Today I just received my third new WIU and right out of the box when trying to add an MTH engine after the "Interrogating Engines" notice I receive an immediate "Request Timed Out".

The MTH green batteries are nothing special. I get my 9 volt batteries from the local hardware store or Menards. It's cheaper than the MTH battery with no shipping fees, faster than waiting for the mail, and the quality is just as good. Just make sure it is rated for 8.4 volts and at least 180mA. No cut needed. The one it has is correct. Traces narrow at that part. MTH has changed wire colors and it does not matter. The Red plug is heat and plugs into the red connector on the harness. The green plug is smoke fan. G

To each his own, but folks have been modifying PS-1 smoke units since the beginning. Not sure how it measures fine then shorts. Traces are not self-healing and that cut is pretty big. Plus funnels can be model specific and many are press fit on PS-1. So matching is not always easy. G
