In Islamic belief, Maalik (Arabic: مَٰلِكُ, romanized: mālik) [1][a] denotes an angel in Hell / Purgatory (Arabic: جهنم, romanized: jahannam) who guarded the Hellfire and assisted by other angel guards (Q 74:30) known as Zabaniyah (Arabic: الزبانية, romanized: az-zabānīya).
