Oct 28, 2024 · Speaking for myself: I'm using an M1 Mac mini – a system similar to your MacBook Air – and I don't perceive a drop in performance; I intend to continue upgrading to new OS releases in the future. (I haven't yet installed OS 18.1, though, which sounds like something of a fundamental architecture shift with the big Apple Intelligence features.

Feb 21, 2023 · M1 and up are more than capable - I don't know how 2 x 256mb of RAM in PS3 in the specific configuration translates to an emulated system, but I would imagine that 8gb ram in a base m1 Mac should be able to supply enough.

Nov 2, 2008 · It does blow that the M1 Macs don't give full speed with USB drives over TB; but I wouldn't say that USB blows on M1 Macs . In other words, it doesn't give full speed, and should. But the discrepancy isn't so great that I'd describe its USB speeds as blowing.

Apr 4, 2022 · Running it here with a Mac Studio M1 Max on a 4K display, usually 100% native resolution or otherwise using AMD FSR on 83%. With shadows on normal, compute normal and MSAA2X and the rest on high it runs pretty good everywhere. But in raids I have to disable MSAA. Indeed what you say shadows, liquid and also compute and also MSAA eat a lot.
