2011年9月17日 · I removed my carb last night to inspect the main jet on the new carb and found out it was an #82. I was getting popping with the #82 and the free flow intake as well as with the stock air box. I swapped out my spare #90 main jet and played around with the air/fuel screw about 15 times going 1/8th of a turn each time in both directions and no luck.

2009年10月7日 · I finally found the correct main jet that worked with my stock intake. My newest problem is that about once a week the scooter will begin to die when taking off from stop lights and run like crap. When you remove the carb each time and pull out the pilot jet, every time the pilot is clogged at the tiny holes at the end.

2011年11月15日 · Sometimes one size bigger main jet will also work since more fuel is being drawn as you back off the throttle it might be enough. But the backfires are usually caused by the PILOT JET not the Main Jet on deceleration, that is why setting the idle up may get rid of it to allow more fuel to be sucked in as the throttle closes.

2012年8月3日 · It does work. I didn't do any other mods to the Tao Tao other than changing the spark plug to an NGK and putting in Royal Purple engine and gear oils after break-in. I did increase the main jet size on a Puma Angel I worked on, and didn't notice any increased speed, just better throttle response.
