2024年4月30日 · Did you ever get more than 100 Mbps download with your current computer and patch cables at a previous location... even once? If your network interface card (NIC) is a 100 Mbps, you'll be limited to around 96 Mbps, regardless of the Cox plan you have. You would also be limited to that speed if you have cat5 cables.

Sales team lied about 500 mbps service. Was told if I upgraded to 500 mbps that I could connect unlimited devices. Now as per Internet technical support, unless you have the "Unlimted Data" plan, you cannot connect as many devices as you like, but if you connect more than 8-10 your speed will slow down.

A few weeks I noticed my speeds had dipped and were capping out 30-35/mbps. Testing from a laptop directly into the modem. Reset modem and speed is back to 500 for about 90 seconds then goes back down.

BTW, I am on preferred, 250 mbps internet and using a single DG2460 downstairs, and a TPLING powerline adapter to the upstairs WiFi mesh, and my average internet speed is easily 250 on ethernet, and faster, while WiFi is 237 of 5ghz and 220 on 2.4 ghz on most of my equipment.

When I upgraded to 550mbps, I had to get the Cox Wfi Cable/Router (DOCIS 3.1) and the speed is sporadic. Some internet speed tests show 550mbps, but some show less than 20mbps.
