UHTC vs ACF ? - Meade Computerized Telescopes - Cloudy Nights
2021年4月2日 · No, ACF is a different kind of optical system. "ACF (Advanced Coma-Free) is an altered version of the Meade's previous schmidt-cassegrain telescopes that replaces the traditional spherical schmidt-cassegrain secondary mirror with a hyperbolic secondary mirror.
Celestron Edge HD vs Meade ACF [Optical Properties] - Cloudy …
2019年7月14日 · If memory serves, the Meade ACF's have a focal ratio of F/8, while the Celestron Edge HD are F/10 telescopes, with the exception of the 14-inch model, which is an F/11 telescope. Therefore with the same eyepiece, the Meades will give you a lower magnification and a wider true field of view.
9 month Review- my thoughts and experiences w/ Meade 10" ACF …
2017年1月21日 · 9 month Review- my thoughts and experiences w/ Meade 10" ACF F10 - posted in Cats & Casses: Hello all I have had this telescope for almost a year now and have wanted to share my thoughts on it. I love reading other peoples reviews, so I thought Id return the favor, but warning- its going to be a long read, my longest post ever. The take away from this review would be to document my progress on ...
12" meade ACF or 14" meade standard sct - Cloudy Nights
2024年8月30日 · That's what Meads description of ACF says. If that's not true, then Meade lied. "Meade Advanced Coma-Free (ACF) is an optical design for telescopes that produces flat fields of view and is free of coma distortion. ACF optics are based on the Ritchey-Chretien design and have several benefits" Reduced astigmatism: ACF optics reduce astigmatism.
Reviews of Meade ACF Optics - Cloudy Nights
2009年8月31日 · I am a visual observer only and also have a Meade 12" ACF SCT. The increased light gathering over the Meade 10" ACF SCT I also own is very apparent when viewing nebula and galaxies. I was able to see the dust lanes in M82 very clearly and a faint glimpse of M110 in Andromeda in my somewhat light polluted KC suburban observing site in my backyard.
Choice between Meade 8" ACF vs EdgeHD 8": is there a clear …
2021年1月29日 · I'm looking currently at either the Meade 8" ACF (LX85 model) vs EdgeHD 8." As I understand, they are very similar, with the Meade being more inexpensive and the EdgeHD 8" having a slightly more flat field curvature. I imagine myself at first using primarily a focal reducer because f/10 is quite slow.
Meade (advanced coma free) , what is it? - Cloudy Nights
2009年3月29日 · Meade's "ACF" design uses a hyperbolic secondary mirror which, when combined with the still-spherical primary and the corrector, produces better off-axis images by reducing residual coma. The idea comes from the Ritchey-Chrétien design, which uses hyperbolic primary and secondary mirrors.
Review of the Meade LS 8 ACF - User Reviews - Cloudy Nights
2010年10月6日 · The Meade LS 8 ACF is the newest, and no doubt will be the largest model with this current mount in the LS (LightSwitch) series. The ETX-LS series were originally released in 2009, and then in 2010 Meade re-introduced the updated series as simply the LS.
Meade has an ACF reducer - Cats & Casses - Cloudy Nights
2024年1月3日 · My 8" Meade ACF with .68x reducer would come in at about 1360 mm--which could be useful for some targets, and also the Meade will work on my smaller Ioptron mount. My issue is autofocus, which I have on all my present AP scopes. I'm like to attach my spare Moonlite to the back of this new Meade reducer. Knowing the thread size is the first step.
Meade 6" ACF SCT-Anyone Own One, What are Your Thoughts on …
2023年12月5日 · The Meade ACF 6" is a very fine performer; a better pinpoint star representation at wider AFOV eyepieces. Except for a few individual OTAs having had multiple issues reported on CN(bad QA shift not catching them), it is a worthy contender if performance is more imperative.
