The History of Burlington Northern E's in Commuter Service
2012年6月11日 · The Burlington Northern sold 25 E units to the West Suburban Mass Transit District (WSMTD) who then leased them back to Metra for use on the BN Line. The first set of Es were sent to Morrison Knudson in Boise Idaho to be rebuilt. These happened to be of the E8 model a 2250 HP version. They were upgraded to E9 standards and numbered 9900-9908.

2024年2月5日 · The version that is shown on the preproduction model is accurate for some of the units, beginning around 1987 or so. It's correct in the Metra era, but not really in the WSMTD era (BN-lettered bilevels). But considering the post-Metra lives of many of these units, the bulk of these versions will be correct.
Chicago & North Western EMD E8 Diesels
It was sold to Precision National Corp and sold to C&NW in September 1972. It was rebuilt on July 20, 1973, as 502. It was sold to Regional Transportation Authority (Metra) on December 31, 1977, and leased back to C&NW.
