The MG 42 (shortened from German: Maschinengewehr 42, or "machine gun 42") is a German recoil-operated air-cooled general-purpose machine gun used extensively by the Wehrmacht and the Waffen-SS during the second half of World War II.

The HK MG 4 (original factory designation of the project was HK 43) is a light, 5.56mm machine gun, developed by famous German company Heckler & Koch as a direct rival to the well-established FN Minimi / M249 SAW LMG. The MG 43 was developed during late 1990s and first appeared circa 2001.

In spite of its tendency to overheat, the MG-42 was an excellent weapon that was light-years of ahead of the US counterpart, the Browning M-1919A4 machine gun. Germany produced roughly 400,000 MG-42s during the war, some of which are still in active service.

In the late 1990s, attention was focused on a new, more modern, and more portable class contact solution that emerged from the historic Heckler & Koch group in the form of the 5.56mm "MG43" - the design Unlike the Minimi, the 5.56mm FN inherited from the competition also makes up the US Army's M249 SAW.

The A/MG-43 Machine Gun Sentry is a defensive stratagem capable of laying down sustained fire for a long duration. It is effective for thinning crowds of enemies, allowing Helldivers to focus on more threatening targets. Laying prone is an easy way for Helldivers to avoid being caught in the sentry's crossfire.
