It had a smaller but more modern XPAG engine as fitted to the Morris Ten Series M, but in a more highly tuned state and like the TA with twin SU carburettors. This 1250 cc straight-four unit featured a slightly less undersquare 66.6 mm (2.6 in) bore and 90 mm (3.5 in) stroke and had a maximum power output of 54 hp (40 kW) at 5200 rpm.

4) In 1947 M.G. introduced the ‘Y’ series saloon, with a single SU H2 1 1/4″carb XPAG engine. This and the softer cam produced 46bhp. There had been no suffix to the XPAG engine types up until now as there was only the TC using it. In the ‘Y’ the engine became the XPAG/SC, and began at SC/10001.

2018年9月23日 · It was derived from the OHV engine used in the new-for-1938 Morris Ten sedan, displacing 1,250cc, albeit with a shorter 90mm stroke. This was the heart of the new MG TB, of which only 379 were assembled before the hostilities commenced.

2024年2月14日 · Is there a good source for details on recommended upgrades to an XPAG engine? I have one from an early TD - so not the 8" dia clutch. Block and crank are in good shape. Looking for cylinder head info; camshaft; valve train; over-size pistons (assuming a rebore), rods, clutch, bearings, seals etc. I'd like to rebuild this one to a fast road state.
