The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is the Government’s lead advisor on housing and urban development. It was set up on 1 October 2018 to address homelessness, make housing affordable and cities more liveable.

We register and regulate community housing providers, to ensure that their tenants are appropriately housed; and support the growth of a fair, efficient and transparent community housing sector. There are currently 89 registered community housing providers (CHPs) with 19,200 properties.
