Born in California (Nov. 1964) and raised in Arizona, Mike began his musical journey as a banjo and guitar player. Throughout his high school years, Mike honed his abilities playing bluegrass and country music in and around the Phoenix area as well as competing in instrumental contests throughout the Southwest.

He found himself onstage at the Grand Ole Opry, on tour with the likes of Bill Monroe, and in studios across Nashville. He played in Del McCoury’s band for years. He’s got some stories.

From playing on Molly Tuttle’s first Grammy-winning album – to spending 13 years touring with Del McCoury – to even performing with classics of the past, such as Bill Monroe – Bub has had a full and impactful career in bluegrass.

2013年11月6日 · 1991-1992, played banjo with Larry Cordle and Lonesome Standard Time. 1992-2005, played bass with the Del McCoury band. 1996, 1997, 2002, 2003, 2005, won IBMA award for Bass Player of the Year. He was a regular member of The Sidemen, a group that performed on Tuesday nights at Nashville’s Station Inn.
