Southern Min or Min Nan varieties are spoken by about 49 million people in the south of Fujian province, in Guangdong, Hainan, Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces, and also in Taiwan, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia.
