2022年4月26日 · Known as the "Father of Greene County" Colonel John Minor was responsible for enacting the law that created Greene County, Pennsylvania on February 9th 1796. Minor was born on January 5th 1747, in Winchester, Virginia to Stephen and Athalia (Updike) Minor.

Captain John Minor was a most useful and prominent citizen of Stratford for about twenty years. He was educated at Hartford at the expense of the Colony to be an interpreter between the British and Native Americans, a valuable service he preformed for many years.
