The Master of Medicine (MMed) programme was a cabinet decision which gives the Malaysian public universities the task of postgraduate medical speciality training. The aim of the programme is to produce specialist in various medical, surgical and laboratory sub-specialities to man the hospitals of both ministry of health and university hospital.

The department provides clinical services at two main centers, Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah UiTM in Puncak Alam and UITM Medical Centre in Sungai Buloh. These clinical services are aimed at providing the highest level of care to patients while also offering valuable learning opportunities for medical students and postgraduate students.

The Faculty of Medicine offers postgraduate Masters and PhD programmes in 2005, starting with MSc and PhD by research. Facilities for research that are available include IMMB, Neuron, CPDRL, CenTRe, and LACU located within the campus. In 2011, the faculty also embarked on clinical master and doctorate programmes for specialty training.
