2017年1月19日 · I am looking at a model 36 S&W with the serial number in the 80,000 range. Does anyone know what the approximate year of manufacture is? With Winchesters and Colts, I have a book of serial number and manufacture dates. I haven't found a similar book for S&W.

2021年3月20日 · Model 36 serial 664879 was shipped in June 1968. Model 36 serial 673307 was shipped from the factory in August 1968. Model 36 716738 was shipped in February 1969. I would say August or September 1968.

2011年8月17日 · Only other thing, and this may be my imagination, but it seems like the curve on the back where the hammer sits is widened/less of a curve on the newer S&W classics line 36's. Any info or opinons? Im thinking about buying one and i dont know weather to go with a used older model or pick up a nice fresh new one off the Classics line.

2025年1月25日 · Howdy y'all. I have a S&W Model 36 serial # ABW 1411 I inherited from my late father. The number 42878 and B23 is stamped on the cylinder roll out. There's also a 4790 and a circle with the letter N stamped under the wooden grip. To my knowledge the pistol has never been fired. I'd like to know what year it is and any other pertinent info about it.

2011年11月26日 · Model numbers are stamped on the frame inside the yoke and are visible when you have the cylinder completely open and you look on the frame where it meets the yoke, usually seen as MOD 36. If your gun is an airweight Chief's special, that would be the same gun in a lightweight version, now known as the Model 37.

2020年2月9日 · The model 36 was always a J frame because the I frame was too weak for 38. I think your gun is a 69. The diamond grips were deleted in 68 but if they had them they’d use them. There’s a few anomalies like that out there. Are they numbered to the gun? If I’m right the J in the middle was to prevent reusing a serial number for whatever reason.

2025年1月17日 · My new to me 3” model 36 will be a nice companion to my 5 shot, 3” model 60-4 (I have S&W “Target” and stock J frame grips for this along with a 9mm cylinder) My only original/authentic “K” frame Tyler grip adaptor resides on this State Police model 67-1 that once belonged to my MSP Trooper daughter.
