Femi Falana, SAN (born 20 May 1958) [1] [2] is a Nigerian lawyer and human right activist. [3] [4] He is the father of a Nigerian rapper Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz. [5] Falana is a welll-known activist for human rights, always trying to show empathy to people who are oppressed. [6]

Mr. Falana has established a distinguished record of human rights activism. He achieved a landmark victory in 1989 by successfully securing the reprieve of twelve children sentenced to execution by a military tribunal in Lagos for armed robbery charges.

Femi Falana, lawyer and human rights activist was born 20th may, 1958 at Ilawe, Ekiti State. He was educated at the University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University Ile- Ife 1977-1981, and was called to Bar in 1982.
