Oct 16, 2003 · That and half ton junk will usualy hold up to a 38 in mud drags(its amazing what they take in a straight line) fwiw, the best/fastest mud truck I've ever seen in a street class was a 92 ranger, with the stock dana 35 up front, and a 9" out back. Running 38x11's and a 700hp 435SCJ under the hood. Do the axles hold up for mud drags? yes.

Sep 10, 2012 · I run a similar motor making 650 hp on the dyno. I run 11.2x24 r1s and turbo 400/205 in low range. Our deep pits r typically 3' of water and mud. I run second gear always. I would think with 38 in a drag pit u would grab 3 rd. Im gonna go 5.13 so i can grab 3rd. Im on the red line in second a ways before then end but not enough hp to grab 3 rd.
Which cam for mud truck? - Pirate 4x4
Aug 16, 2009 · The motor is gonna run in the 450-500HP range so I need a big cam. I've sorta narrowed it down to two Comp cams one is the 292H Magnum with a .501 I&E lift and the other is the XE284H Xtreme Energy with a .507 Intake lift and .510 exhaust lift. What works best in a hardcore mud bog truck? Help me decide!!. Thanks.
