Mugu Beach is just north of Mugu Rock in along Pacific Coast Highway in southern Ventura County. This is one of several beaches along a five-mile stretch of coastline in Point Mugu State Beach. The north boundary of Mugu Beach is shared with a Navy facility which is fenced off.

Mugu State Park. The beach is right on PCH, just past the LA County line in Ventura. While the actual campground (Sycamore Canyon) is situated on the other side of PCH, there is a tunnel that links the campground to the beach so access is not a problem, although you do have to climb over some large rocks to get to the sand.

Point Mugu Beach, a one-third-mile long triangle of sand, is located between Point Mugu Rock and the Naval property. Parking is found along the side of the highway next to the beach. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer.

Point Mugu State Park features 5 miles (8.0 km) of oceanfront beaches, palisades, chaparral-covered mountains, two major canyons with seasonal rivers, grassy valleys highlighted with oaks, sycamores, and the occasional native walnuts trees.

Point Mugu Beach is 10 miles south of Oxnard and is located adjacent to Point Mugu Naval Complex. The scenery is dramatic with the Santa Monica Mountains looming behind the beach and Point Mugu jutting out into the Pacific at the south end of the beach.
