Parties like the Liberals and NDP (in their current forms) get most of their support from Urban areas and thus pander to them. There is also some hate because during the last federal election the NDP removed 2 candidates from 2 rural ridings and replaced them with "different" candidates who weren't even from that area but an Urban one.
