NGC 2394 is a rather poor open cluster to the NW of Eta CMi. At 100X in the 13 inch Newtonian it is not rich, not compressed, pretty large and very little compressed. This cluster consisted of 12 stars of magnitudes 10 and 11. It is not well detached from the background. So, you might ask "why would I want to look at such a mediocre cluster?".
