NGC 3389 is a Spiral Galaxy located in the constellation of Leo in the northern hemisphere. NGC 3389's distance from Earth is 71,698,956.51 light years. NGC 3389 is called NGC 3389 in the New General Catalogue (NGC). This catalogue is a list of deep space objects compiled by John Louis Emil Dreyer in 1888 to update John Herschel's earlier work.

NGC 3389 is a Spiral Galaxy in the Leo constellation. NGC 3389 is situated close to the celestial equator and, as such, it is at least partly visible from both hemispheres in certain times of the year. Given its B magnitude of 12, NGC 3389 is visible with the help of a telescope having an aperture of 8 inches (200mm) or more.

At a distance of 19 Mpc to 21 Mpc (62 to 69 million light years), the spiral galaxy NGC 3389 is slightly further away than the other two. It is of the morphological type SA(s)c and was also discovered by William Herschel on 11 March 1784.

2007年5月4日 · Spiral Galaxy NGC 3389 is a part of a trio of galaxies that include Elliptical Galaxy NGC 3379 (M-105), and Lenticular Galaxy NGC 3384. All of these are a part of the Leo galaxy group. All three fit in a single eyepiece field with a 10 inch telescope. However, NGC 3389 is difficult to see in any telescope much smaller than a 10 inch.
