NGC 6404 is a Open Cluster in the Scorpius constellation. NGC 6404 is situated south of the celestial equator and, as such, it is more easily visible from the southern hemisphere. Given its visual magnitude of 10.6, NGC 6404 is visible with the help of a telescope having an aperture of 6 inches (150mm) or more.

Sofar these clusters have never been studied, and we provide for the firsttime estimates of their fundamental parameters, namely, radial extent,age, distance and reddening. We find that the radius of NGC 6404 is 2.0arcmin, as previously proposed, while the radius of NGC 6583 is 1.0arcmin, significantly lower than previous estimates.

2010年8月18日 · We have derived memberships of a group of evolved stars for each clusters, obtaining a sample of 4, 4, and 2 member stars in NGC~6192, NGC~6404, and NGC~6583, respectively. Using standard LTE analysis we derived stellar parameters and abundance ratios for the iron-peak elements Fe, Ni, Cr, and for the α -elements Al, Mg, Si, Ti, Ca.
