NGC 6804 is a Planetary Nebula in the Aquila constellation. NGC 6804 is situated close to the celestial equator and, as such, it is at least partly visible from both hemispheres in certain times of the year.

The planetary nebula NGC 6804 is located in the constellation Aquila at about the same declination as Altair (α Aquilae). The 1° closeup from the DSS helps to identify the PN based on surrounding stars.

2016年8月7日 · From NGC 6803, slide 20' southeast to a 7th-magnitude star, and then another 30' due south to the binary star BU 976AB, a close-set pair of 6th-magnitude suns that are a nice resolution test for 3-inch telescopes. NGC 6804 is just 11' to their southwest. While NGC 6803 is challenging for its tininess, NGC 6804 measures 35" in diameter.

NGC 6804 is intriguing at high power. At low or medium magnification little or no details could be made out with the small refractor. This Planetary Nebula appeared far smaller (8 arcseconds) than its stated apparent size (50 arcseconds) because only the inter-ring could be made out while the outer section of the nebula remained beyond my reach.
