This Astrobin Debut Object is located 50,000 light years away in the constellation of Vulpecula at a declination of +27 degrees. The nebula spans 3 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a width of 40 light years. I could not find anything of substance written on this fascinating object.

NGC6813 is a small emission nebula located about 2.2 degrees southeast of Albireo in the northern part of Vulpecula. It appears nearly circular with an apparent diameter of about 3 arc minutes, with faint nebulous extensions visible towards the north. Its estimated distance from the solar system is approximately 4,000 light-years.

NGC 6813 is a very faint and small emission nebula, lost in a very dense Milky Way star field. Nebula detail x 2

I was observing from my backyard a couple nights ago and, on a whim, decided to have a look at NGC 6813. Cygnus was in a good position relative to my house and nearby trees, and when I opened Interstellarum to chart 30, my eye almost immediately fell on NGC 6813.

NGC 6813 is a very small and faint emission nebula in Vulpecula. In the image above, it is the tiny reddish spot in the centre of the image.
