Veil Nebula - Wikipedia
The brighter segments of the nebula have the New General Catalogue designations NGC 6960, 6974, 6979, 6992, and 6995. The easiest segment to find is 6960, which runs behind 52 Cygni, a star that can be seen with the naked eye. NGC 6992 and 6995 are objects on the eastern side of the loop which are also relatively easy to see.
NGC 6974 - Supernova Remnant in Cygnus | TheSkyLive.com
NGC 6974 is a Supernova Remnant in the Cygnus constellation. NGC 6974 is situated north of the celestial equator and, as such, it is more easily visible from the northern hemisphere. The image below is a photograph of NGC 6974 from the Digitized Sky Survey 2 (DSS2 - see the credits section) taken in the red channel. The area of sky represented ...
Cygnus Loop - Wikipedia
NGC 6974 and NGC 6979 [ edit ] These two objects are generally identified today (as by the NGC/IC Project and Uranometria ) with two brighter knots of nebulosity in a cloud at the northern edge of the loop, to the east of the northern edge of Pickering's Triangle.
NGC 6974: Pickering's (and Fleming's!) Triangle - AstroBin
Pickering's Triangle, also known by the designation NGC 6974, is part of a large supernova remnant in Cygnus. The larger structure, variously called the Veil Nebula or the Cygnus loop, spans about six full moons and was discovered visually by …
NGC 6974 and NGC 6979 Pickering's Triangle. Both part of the …
This is actually NGC 6974, and 6979. I still think that the Veil Nebula is one of the most beautiful targets in our night sky, and never get bored imaging it. Three are always new details to see, each time I do.
The Veil Nebula Complex - NGC 6960, NGC 6992, NGC 6974
The Veil Nebula complex is located in the constellation of the swan: Cygnus, at a distance of about 1,500 light years The Cygnus Loop has three main sections: - The Eastern Veil Nebula (NGC 6992) - The Western Veil Nebula (NGC 6960) - The Pickering's Triangle (NGC 6974) Technical details: Lens: Samyang 135mm f/2.0 (@ f/2.8) EQ mount: SW EQ6-r ...
The Veil Nebula NGC 6974 - Texas Tech University
NGC 6974. Combination of 15, 3 minute images, using red, green and blue filters. SBIG ST-9XE CCD. 5" f/5 refractor at prime focus. The Veil nebula is a huge, ancient supernova remnant located in south-eastern Cygnus, near the border with Vulpecular.
eSky: NGC 6974
One of several elements that together form the extensive Veil Nebula complex, NGC 6974 is an almost straight, columnar structure that runs north to south between the arcs of Eastern Veil and Western Veil. The northern section is particular well-defined, forming a southward-pointing triangular shape known as Pickering's Triangle.

2018年9月5日 · NGC 6979 and NGC 6974 are two fainter hunks of diffuse nebula between the two main arcs and a short distance east of the magnificent Pickering's Triangle, a prominent bright section shaped like a goatee and trailing a long, winding strand of nebulosity.
