NGC 911 is an elliptical galaxy located in the constellation Andromeda about 258 million light years from the Milky Way. It was discovered by French astronomer Édouard Stephan on 30 October 1878. [4][5][6] It is a member of the galaxy cluster Abell 347.

NGC 911 is a Elliptical Galaxy in the Andromeda constellation. NGC 911 is situated north of the celestial equator and, as such, it is more easily visible from the northern hemisphere. Given its B magnitude of 14, NGC 911 is visible with the help of a telescope having an aperture of 14 inches (350mm) or more.

The spectral data covered 8.35 MHz, i.e.,about 1500 km/sec. OH absorption data are presented for the objects NGC2623, Mrk 231, NGC 5506 and B2 1506 + 34. The 1667/1665 flux ratiovaried from 0.9-2.1 indicating the presence of a molecular gas with a 10K temperature and column densities one to two orders of magnitude largerthan those in our Galaxy.
