#2164 is one of twenty-three Q-3 Class Pacific type (4-6-2) locomotives delivered to the Northern Pacific in 1909 (#2148-#2170). Ten were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia, PA, including #2164, the other thirteen by Alco at its Schenectady, NY, works.

2025年3月17日 · Right fine looking loco with good proportions and lines. Not sure about condition, but a great size for tourist service. A sister engine is currently undergoing a restoration to service in Minnesota. Not sure how that is going, but you are right that this series of NP 4-6-2's are a nice size for tourist service.

2025年3月25日 · She is one of FOUR NP Class Q3 pacifics in preservation! 2153 and 2156 are at the Minnesota Transportation Museum in St. Paul, MN and 2152 is at the Northern Pacific Railway Museum in Toppenish, WA.
