While lurking atop Cajon Pass last Saturday, an eastbound 4x1x1 came along with the NS 8520. Built in 1996 as NS 8946, a C40-9W, it is now a one off conversion to AC traction motors accomplished at Altoona (Juniata) designated AC44C6M.
