2019年12月13日 · F9A No. 271 and F7B No. 276 have been purchased by North Carolina’s Aberdeen Carolina & Western, a 150-mile short line that runs on original Norfolk Southern Railway trackage between Charlotte and Aberdeen, N.C. It was featured in TRAINS’ June 2017 edition as a model for the future with welded rail, unit trains, and modern power.

(1) NS F9 (called an "F9" by NS, it is mechanically an "F9PH") on the outskirts of Atlanta, GA, heading for points west (the train is scheduled to make a run from Atlanta, GA to Dallas, TX, **TODAY**, presumably over the KCS Meridian Speedway, a joint venture between the NS & KCS, the "Meridian Speedway, LLC."

Called F-units, carbody units, or covered wagons, these four-axle locomotives were pioneers of modern railroad-ing. Manufactured by Electro-Motive Division of General Motors, or simply EMD, the model series began with the FT in 1939 and continued to the F9 in 1959. Only A-units had operator’s cabs.

NS's brand-new covered wagons lead the southbound Masters train through Rock Hill on a cloudy morning. Perhaps the most photographed Masters train ever on NS, southbound 951 rolls through Rock Hill with NS's freshly outshopped executive F's. Nice! NS 951 is almost in Augusta.
