Petrographic Features: NWA 2828 contains obvious but sparse RP enstatite chondrules, some of which contain K-bearing glass. The matrix is not recrystallized, but consists mostly of enstatite (Fs0.2Wo1.2) blades, sodic plagioclase and stained voids (former primary kamacite grains) with accessory alabandite and other phases[1].

The Enstatite-rich Al Haggounia 001 meteorite was found in 2006. Some material from the same meteorite has also been reported under the name of Northwest Africa 2828 (NWA 2828). Approximately 3 tons are reported to have been found strewn over 40-50 kilometers including both Morocco and Western Sahara.

The dominant primary phase in NWA 2828 is essentially pure enstatite, which forms stubby prismatic grains.
